One December a couple years ago, we were fortunate to see one of the oldest Christmas Markets in the world, called Striezelmarkt in Dresden.

The Dresdner Striezelmarkt consists of numerous wooden huts selling baked goods and hot street food to the visitor. Also Glühwein or hot Eggnog liquor is offered. The Christmas market has a long tradition, it offers its visitors a nice start to the festive season by selling Christmas items and craft Christmas products.

The first Dresdner Striezelmarkt in 1434 lasted only one day, the market was held the day before Christmas Eve. The Dresdner Striezelmarkt is one of the oldest Christmas markets in the world.
