Basic Cookie Dough recipe:
(large batch, approx. 4 baking sheets of cookies)
4 cups (500g) flour
2.2 stick (250g) very soft butter (almost melted)
2 cups (220g) powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 pinch of salt
2 whole eggs
Knead all the dough ingredients together until you have a soft and smooth dough. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for 30-60 minutes, or in the freezer for 10 minutes.
Divide the dough according to what you’d like to make with it, or leave it as is. Add any desired ingredients such as poppy seeds, nuts, cocoa powder, etc.
After chilling, roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface and proceed with your project. Depending on your kitchen surface, I don’t need any flour, for example. ![]()
Bake the cookies for about 8-10 minutes 350 F or 320 F convection. Don’t overbake them! This is always very important for me when baking cookies. As soon as the edges of the cookies start to brown, take them out of the oven. ![]()
I look forward to seeing your cookie variations. Have fun baking! ![]()
