The Schwarzmann Girls

My friends Margarete and Anneliese own the Hotel Stadt Mainz (see update on bottom). It has been a family business since 1920. Located in the Semmelstrasse, right in the center of Würzburg, and only 500 meters from the Markplatz and the Residenz Castle

When I visit Würzburg to see family, we have lunch together at their Hotel. Their food is always yummy. Margarete and Anneliese have sold their hotel. It is operated by a younger generation. The kitchen is currently under construction, opening soon. They still serve breakfast. Sadly they just lost their mother, she was the Rock of Stadt Mainz.

Margarete left and Anneliese on the right holding my present to them, coffee mugs with my watercolor painting of Würzburg and Frankonia. I received a very special gift from them also, a Franken book, which I cherish.

I recommend highly to get some Germany guide books before heading over there. I have found places I would’ve never thought of. You can buy them right here

I have been living half of my life in Germany, then US, and traveling since then. My passion is cooking, painting and glass mosaic art. I try to re-create recipes I grew up with, or I tasted while traveling in Europe.
